Comprehensive Application Manual
1. The Workspace (Building Notes)
- Note Types (Templates): Select your starting point from the top dropdown menu. The editor will populate with color-coded placeholders (e.g., {{reason_for_referral}}).
- Unified Diet Order: Toggle between Therapeutic, Texture, and Fluid. Make a selection for each, then click the black "Insert" button to inject the compiled string (e.g., Regular / Pureed / Thin).
- Inserting Tokens: Click any pill in the sidebar. If an empty placeholder exists for that category, it will instantly fill and colorize. If a placeholder is already filled, clicking another token in that category will elegantly append it with a comma (e.g., Water, Apple Juice).
- Volume & Frequency: Once you insert a snack or beverage, the cursor automatically positions itself right after the text. Click a modifier (like 237mL or BID) to instantly append it to your recommendation.
- Reordering Categories: Click and drag the grip icon on any sidebar category header to rearrange your workflow.
- Undo / Redo: Use the global undo/redo buttons in the toolbar to revert any accidental clicks or deletions.
2. The Notepad (Batch Exporting)
- Adding to Notepad: Once your note is complete in the Workspace, click Add to Notepad. This saves it to your export queue and prepares the workspace for the next patient.
- Editable Titles: In the Notepad, click the blue header (e.g., PATIENT RECORD #1) to type the patient's actual name or room number.
- Managing Saved Notes: Use the action bar on each saved note to:
- Edit: Send the note back to the Workspace (restoring all color coding) for further adjustments.
- Duplicate: Clone a note perfectly if you are charting for a patient with highly similar requirements.
- Copy Individual: Copy just that specific note to your clipboard.
- Batch Export: Click the prominent Copy Batch button to copy all accumulated notes simultaneously, separated by clean divider lines, ready to paste into your EMR.
3. The Library (Configuration)
- Creating Templates: When defining a new Note Type, drag the "Available Tokens" chips into your text area. For example, inserting
{{prescribed_snacks}}tells the Workspace where to inject those specific pills. - Managing Tokens: In the Tokens tab, you can edit, add, or delete specific items (like adding "Almond Milk" to Beverages).
- Creating Custom Categories: At the bottom of the Tokens tab, use the Add New Category tool. Name it (e.g., "Mobility Status"), and the app will generate a brand new token bank, assign it a color, and add it to your Workspace sidebar.
- Colour Codes: In the Colour Codes tab, click any color swatch to open your system's native color picker. Change the aesthetic of any token category to match your facility's charting standards.
4. System Features
- Sidebar Rail: Click the icon at the top of the sidebar to collapse the menu into a slim rail, maximizing your clinical screen real estate.
- Audio Feedback: Click the speaker icon in the bottom left status box to toggle the premium iOS-style UI sound effects on or off.
- Offline PWA: Because NutritionNote Pro is a Progressive Web App, you can install it to your Dock via Safari ("Add to Dock"). Once installed, it runs entirely locally on your device and will continue to function flawlessly even if your internet connection drops.
